Modification method for the metal-containing surface (1) of an electroplating basket (10) used to hold metal (4) for dissolving in an electrolyte comprises oxidizing the surface. Independent claims are included for: (A) a method for producing electroplating baskets in which their metal-containing surfaces are modified as described; (B) electroplating baskets which have an iron oxide layer on the surface (5) which contacts the metal to be dissolved, with a superficial density of 3.5 - 10.5 g/m2>, especially 5.5 - 6.5 g/m2>; and (C) use of the baskets in electroplating in which the metal to be dissolved is a pure metal or alloy, especially zinc.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Modifikation einer metallhaltigen Oberfläche (1) einer Tragvorrichtung (10) zum Auflösen von metallischen Feststoffen, insbesondere eines Lösekorbs, in der Galvanotechnik. Dabei wird die metallhaltige Oberfläche (1) der Tragvorrichtung (10) oxidiert und bevorzugt in eine Oberflächenschicht (2) aus katalytisch aktiven Metalloxiden umgewandelt. Mit dem erfindungsgemässen Verfahren lassen sich besonders vorteilhafte Tragvorrichtungen (10) mit Oberflächenschichten (2) aus Eisenoxid herstellen, welche sich im Besonderen zur Auflösung von Zinkmetall in einem galvanischen Prozess eignen.
