The candle (1) has a full body (2) of candle-fuel (3) made from pulverized, granular material (3). A wick (4) is provided in candle body (4) and arranged in the center of it. A burn-off guard (6) is formed and has a casing (7) with a lower end formed of a pre-ground (8). The pre-ground has a diameter to height of the casing (7) in a range from 5:1 to 1:1, especially 2,5:1.

Eine Kerze (1) umfasst einen Kerzenkörper (2) aus Kerzen-Brennmaterial (3), vorzugsweise aus pulverisiertem, granuliertem oder flockigem Material (3), einen in dem Kerzenkörper (2) eingebrachten Docht (4) und einen an einer Standfläche der Kerze (1) etwa zentrisch angeordneten Abbrandschutz (6), welcher von einer nach oben offenen Hülse (7) mit am unteren Ende vorgesehenem Boden (8) gebildet ist, wobei der Durchmesser des Bodens (8) zur Höhe der Hülse (7) in einem Bereich von 5:1 1 bis 1: 1, insbesondere von 2,5:1, liegt.
