Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1972718A2] The device has an edge nozzle (7) separating a web (2) and/or a feed strip from a guide surface by an air jet produced from the nozzle. A belt conveyor (10) transports the web and/or the strip to a web dispensing guide area (3). An air permeable continuous conveyor band is guided over an upstream roller (14) i.e. suction roller, and a downstream roller (15) i.e. drive roller. The upstream roller has a smaller diameter than the downstream roller. An upstream end (16) is attached to a separation element i.e. cutter, for separating the web and/or strip and to form a new web opening.
