Abstract (en)
[origin: DE102006001143B3] The headrest is assembled of a stationary rear part and a front element (10) to be moved towards the head of the occupant in case of an impact. The front element (10) is rotated while sliding elements (15) are moved along horizontal guides. A bolt (18) located underneath the unit is connected to the inner wire (20) of a control cable (19). The opposite end of the wire (20) is attached to the movable element (10,11) which is rotated into its prior position when the bolt (18) is turned around a vertical axis.
