[origin: FR2896300A1] The adjustable support for workpieces has a tubular base (2), in which a spindle (8) is mounted. A nut (7) mounted at the lower end of the upper section (3) of the support cooperates with the spindle to allow the upper section to be raised and lowered. It can be locked in position using either a bolt which fits against the spindle or a friction pad which fits against its outer surface. An independent claim is included for work stations fitted with the support.
