[origin: EP1975106A2] The system to control the tension of a yarn (4) or ribbon, during winding on to a bobbin (5) at a bobbin winder with a number of stations, has a compensator roller (8) in the path to the bobbin on a spindle with a drive motor (17). The position of the roller, against a spring (14), is registered by a positioning unit (20) to generate an actual position signal (Ialpha ) for a control amplifier (19). The control amplifier transmits a command signal (S) to the motor, from a comparison of theactual and nominal position value (Salpha ), to keep the compensator roller in a constant setting. The reference value, to set the spring tension, is supplied by a central control computer (21).
