[origin: EP1977904A2] The method involves generating a control command for a stapler (13) i.e. rotary stapler, from a controller (10) of a transverse register. Stapling of the stapler is controlled based on the controller of the register. A control signal is generated for controlling the stapler, and is determined based on specific formula. The controller generates a correcting variable (XQSR) for an actuator (11) based on an offset between an actual value and a desired value of the register.
