[origin: WO2007090580A1] A drain fixture for whirlpool baths is intended to be arranged on the underside of the tub and comprises a suction chamber which communicates with the runoff from the tub and from which the water is sucked with the aid of a pump. Arranged below the suction chamber there is a tub runoff (12) from which the water leads to a drain. Arranged between the suction chamber and the tub runoff there is a valve (13) which is normally closed. If too low a pressure develops in the suction chamber or, to put it another way, too great a partial vacuum, this valve opens in order to break down the partial vacuum. The valve closure body is connected in a fixed manner to a cover (20) that partially covers the runoff opening from the tub. If the cover or the hair trap (21) located underneath the cover is pulled, the valve between the suction chamber and the tub runoff then also opens immediately.
