[origin: WO2007085490A1] The invention relates to a device for separating pollutants in the flue gas of a thermal plant, in particular a refuse incineration plant, fuel substitute incineration plant or a biomass incineration plant, said device being equipped with at least one heating surface for obtaining heat from the flue gas that is produced during the thermal conversion of a feed material. The device is characterised in that it comprises at least one separation surface, which is connected upstream of the heating surface or surfaces. The invention also discloses a method for separating pollutants from flue gas. The invention permits the reduction of corrosion on the heating surfaces of a boiler, which according to prior art has been insufficiently protected, the prolongation of the service life of the heating surfaces, the improvement of thermal transfer properties of the heating surface downstream and the reduction of pressure losses on the flue gas side, in order to increase the operating periods of the plant.
