[origin: WO2007088266A2] The invention concerns a device for counting the number of rotations of an object in a system, in which a storage means (10) carries a counting data (NbRot) designed to represent the number of rotations counted each time. It is proposed to use means for conditionally resetting the storage means capable of resetting the storage means if and only if two separate conditions are fulfilled, one at least of said conditions being reception of an information from an external device ,thereby making sure that the counting data (NbRot) represents the number of rotations counted as from a predetermined time.
