Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1980922A1] The timepiece has a discrete striking mechanism placed in a case, where the mechanism has an actuating unit driven by an energy source. The mechanism has a mobile ring (26) arranged in a wall of the case, and cooperating with the actuating unit. The ring is evolved between a position in which the ring is partially at an upper level with respect to the case, and another position in which the ring is entirely at an equal or lower level with respect to the case.
