Abstract (en)

A method of receiving and processing data (10) which are transmitted in multiple cycles (C1-C4) comprises the steps of: receiving at least a first portion of data (21) in one of the cycles (C1) and at least a second portion of data (22, 23) in a succeeding one of the cycles (C2, C3), determining a respective time of receipt (73) of the first and second portion of data (21, 22, 23), and checking a checksum (13) for each of the first and second portions of data. In the event that the checksums (13) for the first and second portions of data (21, 22, 23) do not correspond with each other, the second portion of data (22) is processed. In the event that the checksums (13) for the first and second portions of data correspond with each other, it is checked for the second portion of data (22, 23) whether a preset time (ta, t2) since receipt of the first portion of data (21) has elapsed, and in the event that the preset time has elapsed, the second portion of data (23) is processed, otherwise the second portion of data (22) is discarded.
