Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007085562A1] The invention relates to a lubricant composition which is characterized in that it comprises a blend of a lubricating oil and colloidal dispersion which comprises particles of at least one iron compound and an amphiphilic agent. The invention also relates to a method of operating an engine, more particularly a diesel engine, which is equipped with an exhaust system fitted with a particle filter, wherein the particles present in the exhaust gases are trapped on the said filter and, periodically, the trapped particles are burnt, characterized in that the composition above is used as the engine lubricant composition with a view to catalysing the combustion of the said particles.
