[origin: DE102006006518B3] The device has an impact unit (16) for receiving kinetic energy of a seat passenger, and an output unit (18) that is provided for connection with a headrest (4). A torsion-rigid connecting unit (17) is provided for mechanical connection of the impact unit and the output unit. The connection unit is pivoted around a fixed rotational axis (23) that is arranged in an area of a lower edge of a backrest, where the rotation axis is arranged within the impact unit. The rotational axis, impact unit and the output unit are arranged in a common plane.
