Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2434142A] An envelope or the like 10 comprises a front wall and a rear wall joined so as to leave an open end, and substantially aligned apertures 20 in the two walls in the vicinity of the open end such that, in use, adhesive on a separate closure member 30 folded over the open end can act through the apertures to retain the closure member on the envelope. One or both of the portions of the closure member 30 which meet and adhere together through the apertures 20 may have an adhesive coating, which may cause an irreversible bond so that the closure member is damaged by its removal from the envelope. The envelope may then be reusable with a fresh closure member. The adhesive may adhere non-permanently with any surfaces of the envelope that it contacts. There may be additional securing means such as a flap or non-permanent adhesive to close the open end of the envelope. An insert may prevent any permanent adhesion of the closure member to contents 60 of the envelope. The walls of the envelope may have a protective layer to prevent damage to the contents.
