[origin: JP2013208459A] PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of overcoming the problem of missing of a malignant (cancerous) polyp in a single forward viewing camera.SOLUTION: An endoscope 10 includes an imaging device 30 having a steerable extension at a distal end of an insertion tube 12. The base end of the extension is attached to the distal end of the insertion tube 12. The endoscope 10 includes a rearward view imaging device disposed inside a distal end area 13 of the insertion tube 12. The endoscope 10 includes an insertion tube having a distal end cap, an imaging device, and a link that couples the imaging device to the distal end cap of the insertion tube.
