Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007093300A3] The invention relates to a security element with an optically variable structure having an embossing structure with linear embossing elements and a coating, wherein the embossing structure and the coating are arranged such that at least parts of the coating can be seen in full when viewing at right angles, but are covered when viewing at an oblique angle. The fact that substantially the entire coating is formed by non-linear base elements which are characterized by the parameters outline, size, colour and orientation and are combined with the embossing structure such that, when the viewing direction is changed, different information becomes visible, can be used to increase the security against forgery of the security element. The invention further relates to a method for producing such a security element, a data carrier having such a security element and the use of such a security element or data carrier for product security.
