[origin: DE102006011963B3] The method involves controlling of different braking system on the basis of availability. The vehicle has two separately controllable braking systems. The mass of the rail vehicle and the instantaneous braking force (set point force) are determined for each braking system. The necessary instantaneous braking force (actual forces) is also determined. The set point force is then distributed between the brake systems, taking into account the mass to be braked and the actual forces, by a management function. The management function actuates the brake systems individually or in combination.
