[origin: WO2007096108A1] A framed planar load-bearing element (3) has a profile frame (2) peripherally surrounding it. A peripheral edge portion (6) of the planar load-bearing element (3) is received in a receiving portion (7). The edge portion (6) is peripherally spaced apart from bounding walls (11 to 13) of the receiving portion (7) both parallel and perpendicular to a load-bearing element plane (14) pre-defined by the planar load-bearing element (3). Consequently, a peripheral receiving chamber (15) is formed between the edge portion (6) and the bounding walls (11 to 13) of the profile frame (2). Arranged opposite one another on both sides of the load-bearing element plane (14) are sealing profiles (16, 17) which seal visible sides (18, 19) of the profile frame (2) with respect to the edge portion (6). Arranged separately to the sealing profiles (16, 17) is a peripherally bearing sealing element (21) made of a material which is soft as compared with a frame profile (1) of the profile frame (2). The sealing element (21) seals at least one of the bounding walls (12) peripherally with respect to the planar load-bearing element (3). The receiving chamber (5) is thus divided into at least two chamber portions (27, 28) in a plane of separation (26) which extends parallel to the load-bearing element plane (14). A thickness (S) of the sealing element (21) at the point where said element separates the chamber portions (27, 28) from one another is less than half as much as a thickness (D) of the edge portion (6) of the planar load-bearing element (3) perpendicular to the load-bearing element plane (14). The result is a framed planar load-bearing element whose heat-insulating effect is improved by virtue of the convection-inhibiting sealing element.
