[origin: EP1988044A1] The coiler (17) has a coil, where a coiler gripper, which is arranged at a rotatable coiler disk, holds leading cable ends (5) of a cable section. The coiler disk is rotatable around a horizontal rotational axis, and the coil gripper is arranged within a finger at the coiler disk. A cable guide supplies the leading cable ends to the coiler gripper. The coiler disk is movable for stripping of the coil by the fingers in a direction of the horizontal axis. The coiler disk is driven using a motor pulley, belt and coiler pulley. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a coil.
