Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1988152A1] By using a microfabrication technique such as nanoimprinting, a cell culture construct having a peak-and-valley structure wherein the intervals among peaks and valleys are 3 µm or less is formed. By culturing cells in this cell culture construct or a cell culture container comprising the cell culture construct integrated therein, a construct having a spheroid or a container having a spheroid, in which a spheroid with lamellipodia has been formed, can be obtained. Thus, it is possible to produce a cell culture construct or a cell culture container in which the shape, size and material of the peak-and-valley structure are controlled. Furthermore, a spheroid suitable for, e.g., screening a drug can be easily cultured within a short period of time at a low cost.
