Abstract (en)

An electrical plug (1) for high frequency data transmission comprises at least a termination block (5) and a wire management element (7) arranged for connection to a cable (10). The cable has a plurality of wires (11) each with a conductor (21), and the wire management element is arranged so that it receives and guides the wires into a series of open ended channels (63) within the termination block. The termination block is arranged to receive a plurality of contacts (6) and is arranged to retain the contacts in a first position in the block and a second position in the block. Each contact is moveable from the first position (see 20F Figure 20A ) to the second position (see 20J in Figure 16 and Figure 20B ), and arranged so that in the first position the wires may be inserted through the channels, and in the second position each contact is held by the termination block in electrical contact with a conductor. The plug further comprises a housing (2) arranged to receive the wire management element and the termination block when the contacts are in the second position.
