Abstract (en)

[origin: DE102006008228A1] Method for temporarily raising the temperature in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine (20) comprises increasing the stream of fresh air and/or exhaust gas passing through bypasses (16.1, 16.2, 16.3) using adjusting elements (17.1, 17.2, 17.3). An independent claim is also included for a device for temporarily raising the temperature in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. Preferred Features: The temperature increase regenerates a component of the exhaust gas post-treatment system (23). The adjusting elements are controlled by a control device (30) depending on the regeneration requirement of the component.
