Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1990281A2] The method involves transporting a packaging element (12). The packaging element is moved by a sealing stroke transverse to a transportation direction (A) towards a stamp tool (28), which carries a tear-off foil, and is pressed at the foil. The packaging element is heated to a temperature required for subsequent sealing by a non-contact manner by a heating device (24) e.g. thermal radiator. The foil and the element are sealed together under the effect of heat. The tool is moved towards the element by a feed stroke executed counter to the sealing stroke during sealing. An independent claim is also included for a device for sealing a packaging element using a tear-off foil, comprising a conveyor device.
