[origin: WO2007090872A2] This invention relates generally to the preparation of SFRP-4-binding agents and uses of the same. In particular the present invention relates to the preparation of anti-SFRP-4 antibodies and their use for SFRP-4 detection and modulation of SFRP-4-mediated function. The compositions and methods of the invention can be employed in diverse tissues to detect disorders manifested by altered SFRP-4 polypeptide expression as well as to affect therapeutic and prophylactic relief for such SFRP-4 polypeptide-associated disorders in a subject in need thereof.
