[origin: WO2007087992A1] The invention relates to an expansion valve for coolant of an air conditioner circuit for mobile applications such as a motor vehicle. Said expansion valve comprises at least one coolant inlet and outlet (2), functional valve mechanisms for actuating and controlling the same, and a pressure-proof envelope (8, 11) which surrounds the valve (1). The invention is characterized in that the expansion valve (1) comprises a valve block (11) in which the coolant inlet and outlet (3), all functional valve mechanisms, and the envelope (8, 11) form an integral part while also comprising an emergency discharge device (12) by means of which the coolant is discharged from the air-conditioning circuit in case of an emergency.
