[origin: EP1992736A1] The pressing arrangement has a press gap, through which a fibrous material web (1) is guided together with a water-absorbent dewatering strip (2). The dewatering strip clasps a spreader roller (3) with a roll shell made of plastic before and after the press gap. The diameter of the roll shell lies between 130 and 800 centimeters and no further roll is provided between the press gap and the spreader roll.
