[origin: WO2007104420A1] The invention relates to a pyrotechnic actuator comprising a housing (1, 1'), a piston (2, 2') having a piston rod (7, 7') and being displaceably mounted in a cavity (3, 9') of the housing and an igniter (6, 6'). According to the invention, during ignition of the igniter (6, 6') a quantity of gas is released, said gas displacing the piston (2, 2') from its initial position, the idle position, into a final position, the working position, the piston rod (7, 7') of said piston triggering an event during the travel from the initial position into the final position, or when the piston is in the final position. The igniter (6, 6') is situated in the cavity (3, 9'), or the gas outlet of the igniter is connected to the cavity (3, 9') via channels or bores (8, 8'). The invention is characterised in that a chamber of the housing (1) or the piston (2') is provided with a connecting bore (25, 25') or a connecting channel, to which a hydraulic fluid supply can be attached, the chamber being connected to the cavity (3, 9'), or to the channels (8, 8') or bores leading to the cavity (3, 9') that conduct the quantity of gas released by the igniter (6, 6'), via channels (26, 26'), bores or similar means.
