Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007099256A1] The invention concerns a method for providing a multimedia service on demand from multimedia sources (3) comprising each at least one programme stream. The programme stream of one source is converted into a transport stream transmitted to a user terminal along a first channel via a telecommunication network. Packets describing elements capable of being superimposed to a video component of the transport stream are further extracted from the programme stream. In response to a request from the user terminal, the service platform converts at least one of the packets describing the superimposable elements into a data page returned to the user terminal along a second channel separate form the first channel via the telecommunication network. Upon reception of the data page at the user terminal, the superimposable elements are retrieved and displayed in superimposition with the video component of the transport stream.
