Abstract (en)
A plurality of hair-plucking elements (9a,9b,18) are mounted to rotate together on an arcuate shaft (32) and rotationally coupled. Spaces (55) open between adjacent hair-plucking elements on a convex side, and hair trapped in these spaces is plucked when they close upon rotating the hair-plucking elements rotating together toward the concave side. The hair-plucking elements include discs (9a,9b) each with a plurality of circumferentially spaced linear jaw edges (12a-12f) on an outer periphery of each disc and a block (18). The block is located between the discs and has a plurality of circumferentially spaced radial arms (19a,19b,19c), a peripheral tip (28) of each arm terminating in planar jaw surfaces (21,22) on axially opposing sides of the arm. Coupling means (36-39) connect the discs to rotate together with each block in a relative position in which the jaw edges of the discs are angularly aligned and each lip extends between the opposing jaw edges to form the spaces (55).
