Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1995002A2] Vibrating machine (10) for removing core sand from hollow castings (17) comprises a rotating drum (14) which holds the casting and is mounted in a frame (11). The casting is hammered to loosen the sand and it is then turned to a position where it can fall out. An independent claim is included for a method for removing core sand from hollow castings comprising: (A) fixing the casting in a holder; (B) using a hammer to loosen the sand; and turning the casting to a position where the sand can fall out, while still vibrating it.
