Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2429186A] The invention provides panels for use as fire surrounds. In order to reduce the weight of the panels a high density material 5 such as stone, marble, etc is secured to a low density layer 4 formed of honeycomb aluminium, fibreglass or plastic for example. Methods of manufacture are also described wherein the low density material is secured to the high density material which is subsequently cut. The panels may also find use for picture frames for example.
