Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2435973A] A mobile station 101 is disclosed for use in a radio communications system (100, Fig 1) and includes a means 208,216 for determining a current location of the mobile station, a direction signal receiver 215 for receiving a signal indicating a current direction faced by a user of the mobile station, a transceiver 203 operable to send to another communication terminal (113, Fig 1) radio signals including current location data and to receive from the other terminal selected direction data relating to a selected direction required to be taken by the user from the current location to proceed to a target destination, and a processor 216 for comparing the current direction faced by the user with the selected direction. The mobile station is particularly suited for assisting the movement of a user such as a fire fighter through a smoke filled building.
