[origin: WO2007104512A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for plasma treatment, comprising an electrode (2) upstream of which a dielectric shield (3) is arranged, and an AC high voltage source (6) for applying an AC high voltage to the electrode (2) in order to bring about a dielectrically shielded gas discharge (11) in a gas (10) that is arranged upstream of the dielectric shield (3) and is at atmospheric pressure, thereby producing a plasma (9).
