Abstract (en)
A method for operating a fossil fuel fired shaft furnace (1) involves accelerating an oxygen-containing transport medium in a jet nozzle (5) and sucking in an injector blast (6) using the generated reduced pressure. The injector blast and transport medium are combined to give a jet nozzle stream (9), which is supplied to the furnace together with a residual blast (10). An independent claim is included for a corresponding shaft furnace (1), having a jet nozzle (5) on the downstream end of a transport medium supply line (3) and a line (10) for supplying a residual blast into the furnace, the novel feature being that an injector blast line (6) opens into the transport medium supply line or the jet nozzle.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Schachtofens (1), insbesondere eines Kupolofens, zum Schmelzen eines metallhaltigen Einsatzes, wobei der Schachtofen (1) durch Verbrennung eines fossilen Brennstoffs beheizt wird. Zur besseren Kontrolle des Schmelzprozesses ist vorgesehen, dass ein sauerstoffhaltiges Fördermedium (3) in einer Treibdüse (5) beschleunigt wird und ein Injektorwind (6) mittels des bei der Beschleunigung des sauerstoffhaltigen Fördermediums (3) entstehenden Unterdrucks angesaugt und mit dem Fördermedium (3) zu einem Treibdüsenstrom (9) zusammengeführt wird, und dass der Treibdüsenstrom (9) und ein Restwind (10) in den Schachtofen (1) geleitet werden.
