[origin: DE102006013729A1] Sintered material based on transition metal borides containing as the main phase:(a) finely divided transition metal diboride,transition metal diboride mixed crystals from at least two transition metal borides, where the transition metal is selected from groups IV to VI subgroups, (b) 1-5 wt.% of borocarbide and or Si carbide particles as the second phase and (c) a third phase comprising a nonpermeable oxygen containing boundary particle phase. Independent claims are included for: (1) a powdered sinterable mixture for production of the sintered material (2) a method of producing the material.
