[origin: WO2007107414A1] The invention relates to a method for transferring data between a data transmission system (1) and a processor (6) of a subscriber (3, 4, 5) of the data transmission system (1). All components (2, 9) of the data transmission system (1) are synchronized with a common global time base. The operating system time base of the subscriber processor (6) is synchronized with the global time base of the data transmission system (1). In order to make it possible to synchronize the operating system time base with the global time base even in complex data transmission systems (1), it is proposed that the operating system time base of the subscriber processor (6) is synchronized with the global time base of the data transmission system (1) at least before data are transferred and a synchronization clock (24) which is in synchronism with the global time base of the data transmission system (1) and is intended to synchronize the operating system time base is provided for this purpose. This synchronization clock (24) is provided by a suitable means (11) which is implemented using hardware and/or software. The invention also relates to a data transmission system (1) for implementing the method according to the invention.
