The sun pillar (1) has a supporting structure for an illuminant (5) and a luminescent screen, where the structure is lowerable in a movable housing (2) together with the illuminant and the screen during a non-use condition. The screen has a fixed cover (7), which is made of transparent fabric or flexible plastic material of small thickness, and the structure stands on a base (3) of the housing. The structure is changeable in height and has a laterally overlapping roof (6) for the screen at an upper end. The cover is detachably fastened at the roof, which is rotatable against the base.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Lichtsäule (1), mit einer sich in der Höhe erstreckenden Tragkonstruktion (4) für ein Leuchtmittel (5) und einen Leuchtschirm (8), mit einer aufspannbaren Hülle (7) aus einem lichtdurchlässigen Gewebe- oder flexiblen Kunststoffmaterial geringer Dicke, wobei die Tragkonstruktion (4) auf einem Sockel (3) steht, der Teil eines mobilen Gehäuses (2) ist, in das die Tragkonstruktion (4) zusammen mit dem Leuchtmittel (5) und dem Leuchtschirm (8) bei Nichtgebrauch versenkbar ist. Die Tragkonstruktion (4) der Lichtsäule (1) ist in der Höhe veränderbar und weist an einem oberen, dem Sockel (3) fernen Ende ein seitlich überstehendes Überdach (6) für den Leuchtschirm (8) auf, an dem die Hülle (7) des Leuchtschirms lösbar befestigt ist und das vorzugsweise gegenüber dem Sockel (3) drehbar ausgebildet ist. Zum Antrieb sind an dem Überdach (6) den durch das Leuchtmittel erzeugten Warmluftstrom ausnutzende Antriebslamellen (33) vorgesehen.
