According to the invention, the design of conventional homogenizers with rotating stators may be simplified by provision of a coupling device (34, 35, 36, 39, 46) for the selective coupling or decoupling of the stator (14, 14', 14'') to or from the rotor (13, 13', 13''), wherein in a coupled state the stator (14, 14', 14'') is driven by the rotor (13, 13', 13'').
