[origin: US2009174288A1] An electroacoustic transducer, particularly for underwater use, having a ceramic body (10) and a pair of electrodes, whose flat electrodes (11, 12) are arranged on mutually averted end faces (101, 102) of the ceramic body (10). At least one electrode (11) is structured in order to effectively suppress the side-lobes in the directional characteristic for all spatial directions such that the density of the ceramic body (10) decreases from the body center to the body edge.
