[origin: WO2007098728A1] The invention relates to an arrangement comprising an object (1), which is at least partially composed of metal and/or noble metal, and an RFID system (2, 3), in which the object and the RFID system interact with one another in such a manner that the transponder (3) and the antenna (2) of the RFID system are applied to the surface of the object at a location of the latter which faces or can face an associated reader or are embedded in the surface of the object in the form of an inlay, and means (17) are provided, said means screening the electrically conductive surface of the object from eddy currents which are induced in the conductor loop (12) or attenuating said currents. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for tracking and locating all kinds of objects which are at least partially composed of metal and/or noble metal or are plated with the latter and in which a locating apparatus which operates in accordance with RFID technology is integrated. In this case, a transponder and, at a distance from the latter, an antenna which is coupled to a reader are arranged in or on the object at an application-specific conductive location, and the transponder is screened with respect to the conductive area.
