Abstract (en)
A lever-arch type file mechanism (10) is disclosed as including a base (12), two rings secured to and extending upwardly from the base for engaging holes in pieces of paper, each ring including a post (18a, 18b) fixed to the base and an arch (24a, 24b) movable relative to the base and the post, and a lever assembly (30) operable to move the arches relative to the posts between a first configuration in which the rings are closed and a second configuration in which the rings are open, the lever assembly including at least a first link (32) and a second link (40), in which the first link is pivotable downwardly to open the rings, the second link is pivotable downwardly to close the rings, and both first and second links extend through a same ring (18a, 24a).
