Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007115514A2] The invention relates to a value and/or security document (2) comprising a machine-readable security element (3) which contains a luminescent substance. The invention is characterized in that at least two different luminescent substances that emit at different emission wavelengths (5a, 5b, 5c) are disposed in different locations on the surface of the value and/or security document (2) and form a luminescent substance pattern. Each emission wavelength (5a, 5b, 5c) is assigned to a symbol (A, B, C) while each location is allocated to a symbol position such that a machine-readable first sequence of symbols is formed by selecting the different luminescent substances in connection with the locations thereof.
