[origin: FR2898935A1] The device has a pivot type connection (6) connecting a transmission shaft (3) and a main body (1) and placed in proximity to an interface between the body and an orientable case (2). A deflection system (7) allows to control a relative displacement of the body with respect to the case. The body has support pads (9) with a diameter less than or equal to that of a drill bit (16). The case has support pads (10a) and fixed or expandable pads, so that the case is supported on a wall of a drilled well. The body and the case are blocked in rotation by slotting another wall of a well to be drilled. An independent claim is also included for a method of performing drilling that requires a precise trajectory control.
