Abstract (en)

[origin: DE102006013763A1] The method involves assigning a bit pattern to a memory region, memory cell of blocks (6), after implementation of a deletion operation (16), which is separated from a writing operation (20) so that a change of state (18) of blocks is recognized during shifting of bits within the memory area for the blocks. An explicit change of the condition of the blocks is implemented after shifting of the bits. Verification data of the blocks are used to determine, whether shifting of bits of the blocks is caused by the change of the state. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for operating a memory device (2) a memory device, which consists of several blocks (3) a computer program with program code units (4) a computer program product with program code units.
