[origin: EP2005859A1] The device has a shell (1) supporting a padded part of a base and connected to a support, and a set of bars (6) integrated with the support and sliding in the shell in adjusting direction. A rod (2) is mounted on the shell and oriented in sliding direction, and is moved between a blocking position blocking one of the bars in a detent point (4) of a steering rack (3) and a releasing position releasing each bar. A returning unit returns the rod in the blocking position of the bars, and a control unit controls rotation of the rod.
