[origin: EP2008957A1] The device (8) has a support (22). Braking jaws move between a passage position and a braking position of a flat product (23). A driving unit drives the jaws from the passage position to the braking position, and has an eccentric element that rotates around a rotational axis (X-X) and co-operates with the jaw. The jaw has a base body and a wear part that is made of bronze. The eccentric element is rotatably fixed on a shaft (42) that is rotates around the rotational axis.
