[origin: WO2007122294A1] The invention relates to a punch press (10), in which compressive machining is performed on a blank. The punch press (10) includes tools (20), a ram (30), a drive element (36) of the ram (30), and a precise-positioning operating device (38) for moving the drive element (36) of the ram (30), as well as a precise-positioning moving element (40) for moving the ram (30) in the direction of the tool row to the location of the desired toll (20). According to the invention the said moving element (40) of the ram (30) is arranged to operate using the same said moving operating device (38) of the ram (30).
