Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007118512A1] The invention relates to a machine for washing and/or drying laundry, in particular according to the front-loader principle, having a drum shaft (14) which is mounted rotatably by means of a bearing arrangement (13) for driving a laundry drum (12) and having a device for determining loading-relevant characteristic variables or an unbalance of the laundry drum (12) or of the drum shaft (14) on account of a laundry load, wherein the device for determining loading-relevant characteristic variables or an unbalance comprises at least one magnetic field sensor unit (22), by way of which the magnetic field of a magnetized region (24) which is moved with the drum shaft (14) or the laundry drum (12) is to be detected. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for determining loading-relevant characteristic variables or unbalance parameters of a laundry drum (12), in which method the parameters are detected by way of at least one magnetic field sensor unit (22) and control and/or regulating parameters of the machine can be derived therefrom.
