[origin: DE102006019458A1] Continuous flow washing machine has a drum (2) which is divided into separate chambers (12) by the thread of an Archimedes screw (6) attached to its walls. Guide plates (14) for the washing are attached to the drum walls. The drum rotates in one direction (A) to wash articles and in the opposite direction (B) to move it on through the machine. It may also be rotated in alternating directions during the wash cycle. An independent claim is included for a method for washing articles using the machine.
